Johanna-Rosalye is a Broadcast & Multimedia Journalist with over 10 years experience in sports journalism. She was born and raised in the heart of Phoenix and is currently pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Communications from the University of Phoenix.
Johanna-Rosalye's love of sports began at a very young age, it was inevitable growing up with four older brothers. She was surrounded by everything sports, from boxing to basketball to soccer, it would become her passion. It wasn't until high school where she learned that sports and writing would be the career she would pursue.
After graduating from North High School, Johanna-Rosalye would attend Arizona State University in pursuit of her Bachelor's degree in Journalism & Mass Communications. However, due to personal reasons she would place her education on hold half way through her degree.
In 2011 Johanna-Rosalye volunteered for the MLB All-Star Fan Fest, where she met Gabriel 'Tito' Avila, Founder of The Hispanic Heritage Baseball Museum Hall of Fame. It was then where she was offered to join Avila's organization as a contributor to their baseball blog. The hall of fame museum would continue to grow and establish an audience with would lead them to create The Hispanic Heritage Baseball Museum Network. Johanna-Rosalye would continue to write and launch the 'Al Punto de la Pelota' co-hosted with Amaury Pi-Gonzalez. The network would open new opportunities from covering MLB teams to guests appearances on media outlets.
In 2012, Johanna-Rosalye launched the "More Than Simply Baseball" blog where she would write in-depth stories of players, the game of baseball, and the latest in MLB news . During this time she would make new connections leading to guest appearances on local and national sports podcast and radio shows. She would later go on to meet PLR from The Sports Kave and 'The Kave Show' and given the opportunity to join their team as a freelance journalist reporting on the Arizona Diamondbacks. It would be here where she would fall in love with radio and broadcasting.
'More than Simply Baseball' would continue to grow, however Johanna-Rosalye wanted to do more. In 2015, Johanna-Rosalye would evolve the baseball blog to 'More than Simply Sports' opening a new realm into the world of sports covering MLB, NBA, NFL and more. Then in 2016, she would launch the 'More Than Simply Sports' podcast allowing her to reach a new and larger audience.
Johanna-Rosalye would continue to make guest appearances in sports podcast and radio show and growing her personal and professional brand. With a decision to rebrand in 2018 'Insight Sports Network' was born along with 'Insight Sports Talk making is debut in 2019. 'Insight Sports Network' is about translating sports to the core, to go beyond the statistics and dive into the story and the athlete. Johanna-Rosalye wanted to also serve under served market, the Hispanic (Spanish-language) market by 'Punto Deportivo' a Spanish-language sports podcast in 2021.
During the pandemic in 2020 Johanna-Rosalye decided to tap into a new side of journalism by launching Insight Notion. Insight Notion is a Society and Culture podcast where she has guests join her to talk about topics ranging from health to politics.
In the summer of 2021, during the Phoenix Suns road to the NBA Finals where she meets the [Spanish] voice of the Phoenix Suns, Arturo Ochoa and collaborate on-air. With a new NBA season fast approaching for the Phoenix Suns she is joins the broadcasting team for the Phoenix Suns at La Mejor Arizona.
In the spring of 2022 Johanna-Rosalye expands her experience by joining the team at VIVAPHOENIX.com as a freelance Lifestyle Journalist. In addition, she pursues a new journalistic role as a News & Sports Journalist for Enlace Informativo at La Onda 1190AM/107.5FM. Johanna-Rosalye provides the sports report every morning Monday to Friday at 7:30am, while also reporting on valley news for La Onda's 5pm news hour.
